While this blog has been rather dormant for all of 2012, I will look to change that in the coming weeks and throughout the 2013 season.
Now that the San Francisco Giants have claimed their 7th World Series title and their 2nd in the last 3 years, we now have a definitive start of the hot stove season and teams looking to make some moves. Over the coming weeks I plan on breaking down the past season from every respective position in the Red Sox organization, as well as the results of various awards and trade talks.
Shaping up to be an interesting off season, 112 days until pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training.
Can’t believe it’s been 2 years since I’ve posted on this blog. With 4 days until pitchers and catchers report for my beloved Red Sox in the new JetBlue park, a once forgotten about blog will be resurrected this year. I hope some people find me and my reports from the “cheap seats” entertaining throughout the year as we go into a regime in the front office and in the dugout.
Reporting from the cheap seats
As I sit here writing my first post, I say congratulations to the New
Orleans Saints for being the Super Bowl XLIV champions. But my
love turns to baseball and warm summer months. Right now the
Dominican Republic has just won the 2010 Caribbean Series on MLB
Network. There’s 11 days until pitchers and catchers report for
Spring Training. Here in my small town there’s snow on the ground,
and a snow storm projected for Wednesday into Thursday.
I thought that the Caribbean Series would relieve the itch for
baseball since it is the first live televised games of the year, but it
didn’t really do it for me. I felt like I was watching AAA ball or AA for
that matter I seen multiple errors on routine plays. I still can’t
believe that Vinny Castilla is playing like he is at 42 years old. He
was the one bright spot in the series, that I could see.
Now I don’t want people to read this and think that I don’t know
passion for the game, or that I don’t understand how passionate the Latin Americans are to this sport. Trust me I get it, I guess I’m just unfamiliar with it. This was my first time with this series but next year I will turn it on again if the network has it.
Best wishes from the cheap seats!
